2024 Strawberry Reservoir Clean Up

On Saturday, June 22nd, the 4th annual Fish For Garbage Strawberry Reservoir Clean Up saw a fantastic turnout, with over 200 dedicated volunteers coming together to make a difference. This year, we collected a staggering 4,780 pounds of trash, pushing us past the incredible milestone of 100,000 pounds of garbage removed since Fish For Garbage was created.

Volunteers arrived at Chicken Creek West, Strawberry Reservoir, Utah, bright and early. The day started with a free breakfast, providing everyone with the energy needed for the cleanup ahead. From 9:00 AM to Noon, volunteers worked tirelessly, scouring the reservoir and surrounding areas to collect garbage. Their efforts paid off immensely, with bags of trash piling up, restoring the beauty and health of the riparian ecosystem.

At noon, PaleBlue provided a well-deserved lunch, allowing everyone to refuel and relax. The sense of community was palpable as volunteers shared stories, made new friends, and enjoyed the stunning outdoor setting.

At 12:30 PM, it was time for awards and prizes, with the grand prize generously provided by FishWest Fly Shop. Volunteers exchanged the garbage they collected for BBQ and prize drawing tickets, increasing their chances of winning fantastic prizes from our sponsors. It was our way of saying thank you for their hard work and dedication.

After the cleanup, many volunteers stayed to enjoy camping and fishing, making the most of the beautiful surroundings. The sense of accomplishment was evident as everyone relaxed and appreciated the cleaner, healthier environment they helped create.

Fish For Garbage is more than just a cleanup event; it's a community of like-minded individuals passionate about protecting and preserving our waterways. We invite you to join us for another successful cleanup, where you can enjoy the great outdoors, make new friends, and have a chance to win amazing prizes.

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported the 4th annual Fish For Garbage Strawberry Reservoir Clean Up. Together, we are making a lasting impact and ensuring our waterways remain clean and beautiful for generations to come. See you next year!
