2024 Provo River Clean Up

We extend an enormous "Thank you!" to all those who contributed to the tremendous success of our recent Provo River Cleanup. Success comes in many forms—resounding, massive, roaring—and this event exceeded them all, leaving behind not just a cleaner river but also a sense of environmental stewardship that resonates far beyond the day's efforts.

Breaking records became the norm at this year's cleanup, with a staggering 14,360 pounds of trash collected. This surpasses our previous cleanup record by over 2,000 pounds—an achievement made possible by the dedication of our 400+ volunteers who braved the elements to safeguard our environment. Such was the turnout and collection that we found ourselves in need of a third dumpster on site, as the two initially brought along were quickly overwhelmed.

We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our sponsors whose generosity ensured that our volunteers were well-fed, rewarded, and celebrated. Nicholas & Co. provided delicious sustenance expertly prepared by their talented chefs. Holy Cross Hospital not only offered prize support for our drawing but also contributed manpower to the cleanup effort. Western Rivers Flyfisher contributed an exceptional grand prize, while Breen Homes' "Cash for Trash" initiative pledged ¢15 per pound collected, further incentivizing environmental preservation. Additionally, numerous other sponsors provided valuable prize support, enhancing the experience for all involved.

Yet, our work is far from finished. With our pristine waterways as our backdrop, we are committed to continually shattering records and safeguarding the future of our natural landscapes for generations to come. None of this is possible without the ongoing support of our community.
