2024 Jordan River Clean Up

This past weekend, the 2024 Fish For Garbage Jordan River Clean Up was an inspiring event that brought together over 125 dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to make a significant impact on our local environment. With the combined efforts of our incredible community, we managed to collect a staggering 2,260 pounds of trash from the Jordan River!

We couldn't have achieved this without the unwavering support of our partners. A huge thank you goes out to SLC Public Lands and the Jordan River Commission for their invaluable assistance and resources. Additionally, we are deeply grateful to SLC Patagonia Outlet for providing the grand prizes that motivated many to join and participate in this important cause.

Our volunteers, armed with gloves, bags, and a lot of enthusiasm, tackled the riverbanks and waterway, removing debris and waste that had accumulated over time. From shopping carts to old furniture and miscellaneous junk, the collective effort of our team led to the removal of a wide variety of pollutants, ensuring a cleaner and safer environment for wildlife and the community.

The event was not just about cleaning up; it was also about raising awareness and fostering a sense of stewardship towards our natural spaces. Volunteers of all ages came together, demonstrating that community spirit and environmental responsibility are alive and well.

We are excited to announce that our next cleanup event will take place on the Green River on August 17th. We invite everyone who cares about our rivers and natural spaces to join us for another day of making a difference. To ensure we have enough supplies and can coordinate effectively, please remember to preregister via our website.

Our clean-up events are more than just picking up trash; they are a testament to the power of community and the impact we can have when we work together. We look forward to seeing even more volunteers at our upcoming Green River Clean Up. Together, we can continue to make our rivers cleaner and our environment healthier for generations to come.

Stay tuned for more updates and thank you once again to everyone who made the 2024 Fish For Garbage Jordan River Clean Up a resounding success. Let’s keep the momentum going!
